AprodesoWas first founded in 1998, with the mission to contribute to the construction of a sustained development or any other association of the Guatemalan's conglomerate. During the first years before its legalization, APRODESO was already supporting education for children and adults, organizing medical days, environmental awareness, giving help to handicapped children, refugees and the insertion back to a civil life for those demobilized after the armed conflict. All these activities were organized with the support and guarantee of the Spanish Amerindian Bilingua
Volunteer WorkPrimeros Pasos was formed in June 2002 as a non-profit organization under the name of Salud de Tierra Colorada, based out of a rural clinic in Tierra Colorada Baja, a primary Mayan Quiche community in the outskirts of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. The program focus was to provide free medical service, medication and basic health education to the children of Tierra Colorada and neighboring communities through the public school system.
