Laguna Chicabal is a sacred place to the Mayan/Mam people. It is surrounded by a mystic cloud forest and can be hiked to in one day from Xela.

 

 

 

 

Take any bus heading to Columba or San Martin Chile Verde. Get off the bus at San Martin Chile Verde and look for a large sign pointing to Laguna Chicabal on the right hand side of the road.

 

 

Please remember this is a sacred place. Leave it better than you found it!!
