The included afternoon activities allow our students to have a wider view of the culture and history of Guatemala and increase social interaction among students. We aim to provide a variety of authentic and interactive experiences.

Some of our activities include excursions and tours, conferences, salsa lessons, movies, discussions and debates.

Each week a different teacher becomes the activities coordinator and is responsible for afternoon entertainment. The schedule is presented to students at the beginning of the week so that students can plan their week. These activities are optional and free, and some of them have small entrance fee or transportation cost (around $ 1 and 4).

Weekends are your free time away from school to explore Xela and enjoy the night life. They are also a great time to take longer trips around Guatemala. When we have a group with special interests, such as anthropology, medicine, handicrafts, politics, Juan Sisay will arrange special trips and activities around Quetzaltenango to fulfill your needs.
