Quetzaltrekkers

Description

Quetzaltrekkers is a not for profit tour company which offers hikes in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. We are based in Quetzaltenango (Xela) and offer a wide variety of tours. 100% of our profits go directly to Escuela de la Calle (EDELAC). EDELAC is a school in the las Rosas area of Xela, which offers free education to the children of the area, it also runs a refuge for the street children and child workers of the city.

Activities

Volunteers working with QT have a wide range of responsibilities. They work as guides for the treks, run the office, organize benefits, publicity and sales, some work directly with the children: daytime and evening activities, cooking, art classes and educational activities, etc.

Minimum

There is a minimum of 3 months commitment.

Spanish

Basic Spanish is an advantage but not necessary.

Schedule

Schedule varies depending on tourist levels.

No special requirements, basic training is provided
